Regis T. Repko
Duke Energy
Senior Vice President, System Planning and Construction
The purpose of the testimony was to urge congress to reduce regulatory barriers so Duke Energy, and other utilities, could build new small nuclear reactor (SMR) facilities to meet increased demand for electricity from data centers.
Working together with Regis Repko, federal affairs, and legal, I developed our key messages and drafted the comments Regis delivered to the Congressional Energy Subcommittee.
We developed a comprehensive, confidential Q&A document as well.

In response to growing concern about the potential impacts of climate change on our infrastructure, Duke Energy voluntarily contracted with a third-party to identify the most significant risks to all our facilities and the electric grid, and to evaluate our level of response and preparedness for preventing and/or managing these risks.
My role was to work with our vendor and in-house subject matter experts to produce this report, get it approved by legal, investor relations and the executive team. We then launched a full media campaign including interviews and social media posts.
